Guillermo del Toro’s gothic fantasy-romance Crimson Peak (2016) is meticulously designed and thought through to provide much discussion of allegory, cinema style, plot detail and implementation. In their first review-off Justin and Alex go toe to toe in a full assessment of intricacies of Crimson Peak. This review is spoilerrific so make sure you've seen the film first.

For those who haven't seen the film, it is a Fantasy, Horror, Drama that focuses on a family tragedy, where an aspiring author torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds - and remembers.

What ultimately makes this film a must see is the level of effort put into every detail which triggers in depth discussion.
